Aaron Blaise
Animation—Focus on sketching, character development & his work with Disney
About the Artist
Aaron Blaise is an animation feature film director and wildlife artist. For 21 years Aaron worked with Disney helping to create some of the greatest animated films ever made. During that time he worked as an animator or supervising animator on The Rescuers Down Under, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, Pocahontas, Mulan and more. In 2003, he was co-director of Brother Bear for which he earned an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Feature Film.
Aaron travels the world, works as an animation director and character designer, has a fine art career, and teaches through his online website. He carries his camera, sketchbook and paints wherever he goes. As he says, I love drawing and painting animals! From an artistic perspective, animals and nature in general were the first things I started drawing from as far back as I can remember. Creating images of the amazing creatures that we share our Earth with is for me the greatest pleasure I could ever hope for in a career.
